The implementation of effects plays an important role in complementing the lighting scene and creating the 'WOW' factor

These visual effects are created through the use of water, fire, smoke pyrotechnics and electro-mechanical devices

Large-scale effects are capable of creating huge impact and spectacle, however the greater challenge often lies in providing small, subtle and simple solutions

Dave has also been instrumental in the development of many special effects systems including -

	Vulcan - kerosene / paraffin burner	An automated / programmable fire effect designed to produce jets and balls of fire 15 metres in the air - controlled by industry-standard lighting consoles

	Flambeaux gas burner	A popular visual fire effect, seen here in a traditional basket Many visual styles of burner have been developed These effects can be as a stand-alone device, or the digital versions can be choreographed into a synchronised theatrical sequence

	CO2 fogger	An alternative to smoke effects, the CO2 cloud forms instantaneously from a series of digital nozzles, enabling waves of cloud to be generated on demand The advantage of CO2 over smoke is it's ability do vanish instantly after use The effect can be controlled from an industry-standard lighting console
